Burning CDs is an easy process. However, Storm recommends ceasing all other computer programs and operations during the burn so it doesn't interfere with the process.

Also, only use CD-R discs - DO NOT USE CD-RW DISCS! CD-RW discs are a magnetic medium which degrades very easily over time, whereas a CD-R disc will literally "burn" the information into the CD.

Step 1 - Start DeepBurner

It is located in Start, Programs, CD Burner, DeepBurner.

Step 2 - Choose Type of Burn

You'll need to decide what type of burn your going to make. Remember that CDs don't necessarily contain music, nor do DVDs contain movies; they both can also store data. A CD can store over 460 floppy disks of data, while DVDs can store the equivalent of 3,357,142,857 floppy disks! Please note: you cannot burn DVDs without a DVD burner.

Choose whether your burning an audio, video or data CD/DVD.

Step 3 - Change the View

Change your view to "Tile Vertically". This makes it easier to transfer files and understand visually whats happening. In the image below you can see the button that corrospondes to this view. To understand which button, slowly mouse over all the buttons in DeepBurner and a tag will appear explaining how the button operates. Optionally, you can click "Window"->"Tile Vertically"

Step 4 - Choose the Files to Burn

In the Explorer window, access the files you want to burn. This window operates the same as the "My Computer" folder. Click on the file you want to burn and drag it into the left hand window (the window will be named data if you're buring data and audio if burning music).

Step 5 - Set Burn Speed

Click "Burn Disk" in the left window. You will see many lines of code - this is normal. Next, locate the "Speed" dropdown in the bottom of the window, and change the speed down 1 level from MAX. Although the CD burner may be able to cut faster, it will compromise the quality of your burn job.

Step 6 - Click "Burn"!

Insert the CD you want to burn in the burner and click "Burn". Once the burn process is complete, you may close the program. Deepburner will ask if you want to save the CD layout. This is a useful feature if you want to burn multiple CDs with the same play list. If you're not interested in this option, don't save the changes.

Storm recommends testing the freshly burnt CD to make sure you've a complete burn. For a data CD, check for all the files, and for an audio CD, skip through all the tracks.
