QUICK REFERENCE: Email Server/User Names

No matter the email program you use, there is a common set of information that you'll need to set up or test your email account. For Storm clients, the information is made as simple as possible:


Incoming & Outgoing Server Name: mail.<your web site domain> (ex. mail.stormat.ca )


Incoming Server Port: 110


Outgoing Server Port: 587 (NOTE: if this doesn't work with your Internet Service Provider, try port 25 instead)


Incoming/Outgoing Username: <your email address, but with a + in place of @> (ex. support+stormat.ca )


Incoming/Outgoing Password: <the password you provided to Storm. Please contact us to reset it if you forget>

Another test you can do in case anybody calls to say they can't get email...

After doing a ping, see if they use Outlook. That program reset 2 email accounts at Pharos to "localhost" and it wasn't that they couldn't get mail, but rather that we just needed to set up the account!
